There are reports Paris Saint-Germain have increased their offer to €40m plus bonuses and are close to a deal for Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca.

The Italy international has been linked with numerous clubs over the summer, including Milan, Inter, Arsenal and Newcastle United.

So far nobody has come close to the €50m asking price, but PSG may well be getting there.

According to Calciomercato.com, after an initial bid was rejected, Paris Saint-Germain have increased their proposal to Sassuolo and reached €40m plus performance-related bonuses.

There had already been suggestions in L’Equipe that Scamacca had agreed personal terms with PSG and was ready to join the Ligue 1 giants.

The 23-year-old centre-forward came up through the Roma youth academy before moving to PSV Eindhoven in January 2015, then Sassuolo in January 2017.

After loan spells with Cremonese, PEC Zwolle, Ascoli and Genoa, he became Sassuolo’s first choice centre-forward this season, contributing 16 goals in 36 Serie A games.

  1. Frelling hell, PSG should quit Ligue 1 and just go on an international tour with their highpriced squad. Any star talent becomes their target. Is not a team but a quasi all-star quad.

  2. Let’s hope if this goes through his development is more Veratti than Donnarumma. I fear for his playing time though, given their squad.
