Milan defender Fikayo Tomori and Roma striker Tammy Abraham have been left out of England’s World Cup squad.

Gareth Southgate has named his 26-man squad list for Qatar 2022, leaving out the English pair playing in Serie A.

This means no representatives from Italy’s top flight make the Three Lions squad, given that the England CT has also snubbed Chris Smalling.

However, the Roma defender had made his last appearance with his national team in 2017.

Decisions on Tomori and Abraham are a little more surprising given that the Milan centre-back was among Serie A’s best defenders in 2021-22 when Milan won their first Serie A title in 11 years.

On the other hand, Abraham became the most prolific debutant in the history of the Giallorossi with 27 goals in 53 appearances across all competitions.

However, he hasn’t been up to his standards this term, with just four goals in 19 matches.

The ex-Chelsea forward put his name on the scoresheet against Sassuolo on Wednesday night and promised Roma fans would see something different from him after the World Cup break.

  1. This is a good opportunity for tomori to rest, recharge and reset! I don’t care about england but his form has been poor! Great for Milan as he can now concentrate on his game!

  2. I hope they reach the final again and lose it at the very last minute not because he snubbed abraham and Tomori but because they are English lol Abraham and Tomori will definently be the first names when the next manager comes in

  3. Harry Maguire isn’t good enough to play in his own team, he’s 4th choice CB at his own club and has been condemned by united fans and pundits alike but he’s ALWAYS in the England squad. Terrible decision from a pedestrian manager.
