Zenit’s Axel Witsel ‘hasn’t given anything away about Milan and Juventus interest’, says his teammate Domenico Criscito.

The Italy international had a long interview with Il Messaggero in which he discussed interest in Witsel from two of Serie A’s giants.

Criscito also admitted ‘I’m still hoping’ for a Euro 2016 call up, but ‘the chances are very small’.

“Witsel? He only has one year left on his contract at Zenit,” he said.

“He’s happy but I don’t know what he’ll do.

“He’s never given anything away when I’ve tried to discuss the reported interest of Milan and Juventus with him. Roma after him? Spalletti knows him well.

“What happened with Doumbia at Roma? I think it was acclimatisation problems. In Russia he’s always scored lots.

“Azzurri? I’m still hoping for it, even if the chances are very small. My story with the Italy team is very strange. I’m 29, we will see what happens with the new Azzurri cycle.”
