Gareth Southgate has not looked to Serie A for his latest England squad, leaving out players like Milan’s Fikayo Tomori and Roma’s Tammy Abraham.

The Three Lions – who are in the same Euro 2024 qualifying group as Italy – are gearing up for their qualifiers against Malta and North Macedonia, which kick off next month.

An increasing number of Englishmen have made the jump to foreign leagues in recent years, with successful cases being made by players like Jude Bellingham at Borussia Dortmund and Chris Smalling at Roma.

Southgate announced his 25-man England squad for the upcoming Euro 2024 qualifiers, confirming the absence of any Serie A players in his team.

Five Englishman are currently plying their trade in Serie A – Tomori at Milan, Abraham and Smalling at Roma, Harry Winks at Sampdoria, and Samuel Iling-Junior at Juventus.

The most likely two who could’ve been included were Tomori and Abraham, who both made their last appearance for England in a Nations League match against Italy on June 11 last year.
