The 1-1 draw with Milan on Sunday in Turin left the Bianconeri in the bottom three of Serie A, having fumbled seven points from leading situations already this season.

“I am only worried about the points, but not the performances, especially against Milan which I felt was superior to the one we had in the Champions League,” Nedved told DAZN.

“We were unable to keep that intensity and concentration for 90 minutes and that is what we need to improve.”

Federico Chiesa is back in the starting XI against Spezia, though Max Allegri had seemed disappointed with his attitude in recent weeks.

“He’s doing very well, he unfortunately returned from international duty with an injury and had to stop for a week, which is not good at this stage of the season. We had to ease him into it, but he’s in good shape now and playing today.”

Dybala leads the team out again as captain today, as Giorgio Chiellini is injured, so Nedved was inevitably asked how the contract talks are progressing.

“We are very happy with Paulo, the performances and his leadership. We are continuing negotiations for the contract, but there are so many games at the moment, it’s very difficult to find the right moment to sit down and discuss it.

“We are negotiating, the situation is progressing well, though there are still a few details missing.”
