This Serie A clash brings together two clubs with relatively new managers desperate to climb the table – and these Monza vs. Bologna predictions suggest it could be a tight affair.

Monza vs. Bologna odds

1 – The draw – 23/10

2 – Over 2.5 goals scored – 10/11

3 – Marko Arnautović to score at any time – 21/10

4 – Both teams to score  – 7/10

5 – Bologna to score over 1.5 goals – 7/4

Thiago Motta was able to celebrate his first victory as Bologna manager last week and it was no coincidence that Marko Arnautović was available after being out injured. The Austrian striker scored the opener in a 2-0 win over struggling Lecce.

Arnautović is the Serie A leading goal scorer at the moment and seems to be one of the few bright spots for Bologna. He should be backed to find the net against Monza but his team will have to fight to come away with all three points on Monday night.

The Rossoblu have only managed two wins all season in the league and could do with a few more to drag themselves away from a congested bottom half of the table. Monza have looked good at home since Raffaele Palladino’s appointment though.

He was unable to oversee what would have been a memorable victory over Milan last weekend though. With Silvio Berlusconi and Adriano Galliani returning to the San Siro, the game was boosted in the media. But the scudetto holders ran out quite comfortable 4-1 winners in the end.

That was Monza’s second successive defeat under Palladino and he must now work out how to stop the rot before the side becomes part of the relegation scrap again.

There is some quality in the Monza side – and the players have shown some real fight since the new manager came in. So this could be an interesting clash, with both teams able to score goals and take the game to their opponents.

Monza team news

Raffaele Palladino has tinkered with his forward line since taking over but may stick with the three that started against Milan here. But do expect to see both Christian Gytkjaer and Andrea Petagna feature at some point though. Nicolò Rovella is still suspended, however.

Bologna team news

Thiago Motta has no reason to change his starting eleven after the win last week against Lecce. Lewis Ferguson should retain his place after scoring his first goal in Serie A, while Musa Barrow should just about keep Riccardo Orsolini on the subs bench.
