Milan are keen to pick up Marco Asensio on a free transfer next summer but have reportedly hit a snag in their chase of the Real Madrid winger.

Rossoneri directors Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara are big fans of the 26-year-old Spaniard and believe he’d be a great addition to Stefano Pioli’s forward line, able to support the striker and attacking midfielders from out wide. Milan have been in close contact with his agent Jorge Mendes and were feeling positive regarding a free transfer next summer.

As reported by Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com, Milan are forced to wait anxiously as Real Madrid look to tie down Asensio to a new contract. Los Blancos have offered the 26-year-old a new three-year deal and an agreement could be on the cards before the end of the year.

The Rossoneri may be forced to look elsewhere as Real Madrid work to retain their man. Asensio has struggled for consistent minutes under Carlo Ancelotti this season, only seeing 59 minutes of action across his seven La Liga appearances.
