Roma have reportedly found their successor to Tiago Pinto, deciding to bring in Monza’s Francois Modesto as their new sporting director in the summer.

The 39-year-old Pinto ended a three-year spell as the Giallorossi’s transfer market head back in February, deciding to take on a new adventure following the dismissal of Jose Mourinho. He has since been linked with the job at Newcastle United.

Roma have taken their time searching for an adequate long-term replacement for Pinto, with the Friedkins keen to find the right man for their new project under Daniele De Rossi, who has far exceeded expectations in the dugout.

La Gazzetta dello Sport via TMW details how Roma and Modesto have reached an agreement in principle ahead of the summer transfer window, with Giallorossi CEO Lina Soulokou playing a key role in the decision.

The 45-year-old Modesto has years of experience as a sporting director, first taking on the role with Olympiacos In 2016 before spending time with Nottingham Forest and then Monza.
