According to reports in Italy, Lois Openda is Milan‘s primary target for the attack while talks with Daichi Kamada have intensified and Stephan El Shaarawy’s return is on the cards.

The Rossoneri will be looking for a new centre forward in the summer and although their transfer budget depends on a top-four finish, the Rossoneri are not going to invest €50-60m to sign one single player.

Therefore, Lens’ striker Openda has emerged as their primary target for 2023-24, according to Gazzetta. The 23-year-old has scored 19 goals in 40 appearances across all competitions this season and his contract expires in June 2027.

He’s one of the many profiles monitored by the Rossoneri, whose shopping list includes the likes of Gianluca Scamacca, Marko Arnautovic and Alvaro Morata.

The Diavoli are also looking for an attacking midfielder and a winger. According to TMW, Eintracht Frankfurt’s Kamada is close to joining the Rossoneri as a free agent with Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara who have intensified talks with the entourage of the 26-year-old whose contract with Eintracht Frankfurt expires in June.

Among the options for the left wing, there is a familiar face at Milanello: El Shaarawy, who is also available on a free transfer in June. According to Wednesday’s printed edition of Tuttosport (page 19), Milan are considering his return for two reasons. First, the 31-year-old would be the ideal back-up for Rafael Leao who will sign a new contract with Milan on Friday. Second, the Italian is a locally-trained player which would be helpful to fill Milan’s UEFA list for 2023-24.

  1. El Sha won’t be 31 until the end of October. I’d happily welcome him back. He has scored 6 goals despite only half of the matches he has been available for. He deserves better than playing for ‘parking the pullman rugby club’.
