Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani has regrets about missing out on Manchester City’s Carlos Tevez.

“A train like that doesn’t pass for a second time,” the Rossoneri director stated on Thursday afternoon.
“I saw him yesterday and, after six months in which he had not played, he performed as he usually does and changed a game which could be crucial for Manchester City.
“I was in love with Tevez, but destiny decided otherwise, and we are more than happy with Maxi Lopez.”
Milan were ready to finance the move for the South American by sacrificing Alexandre Pato to Paris Saint-Germain.
However, that proposed switch didn’t happen either and the Brazilian has since been sidelined by yet another injury at San Siro.
“He’ll be looked at by an American specialist, but he is a great and will remain with us. He’s an important player at this club.”
Milan went out of the Italian Cup to Juventus in midweek, but they are still four points clear of the Old Lady in Serie A.
“The game against Roma at the weekend is as important as the match with Udinese, it is a fundamental game like the other nine which are remaining,” Galliani added.
“We understood that the championship changed in Udine.”
Milan scored two late goals at the Stadio Friuli to turn a 0-1 into a 2-1 win.
The former Lega Calcio chief also dismissed speculation that former striker Marco Van Basten is a possible future Coach with the Diavolo.
“I’ve never talked to Van Basten, we have renewed the contract of Massimiliano Allegri for two more seasons and he’ll stay here for a long time.
“Van Basten is Van Basten, but the Coach is the least of our concerns.”
