Milan have announced several initiatives to help raise funds for Ukrainian refugees, including a special jersey designed in collaboration with Andriy Shevchenko.
The Russian invasion has caused a humanitarian catastrophe in Ukraine and football clubs are eager to do anything they can to help the local population.
Milan are particularly involved, as Ukraine legend Shevchenko was one of their most famous players and recently recorded a video message that was played before the Coppa Italia semi-final with Inter.
Now the club has announced a host of new initiatives with the Red Cross, including an auction to sell off memorabilia from the men’s and women’s teams.
The key part of the initiative is a new jersey called the Special Edition – Manchester 2003 for Ukraine.
It has Shevchenko and the Number 7 on the back, inspired by the shirt he wore when scoring the decisive penalty against Juventus in the 2003 Champions League Final at Old Trafford.
The jersey will also have the colours of the Ukrainian flag on the shoulders and chest, with the phrase ‘AC Milan for Peace.’
All proceeds from the sale will go to the Italian Red Cross for their project in Ukraine.

Great! That’s what everyone should be doing!
Why only on auction? I would like to buy a 2003 Jersey with Sheva on the back.
@MartiN You can buy it mate, official online store from tomorrow. I might grab one myself.
Well done to all at Milan, this will only be the start of the clubs support for Sheva and his homeland.
