Juventus and Milan continue their pursuit of Nicolò Zaniolo, but it’s reported Roma are more than happy to keep him if the offers aren’t irresistible.

Multiple sources reported over the last couple of weeks that Zaniolo was on the market, hoping a big sale would raise funds that could be reinvested in other areas of the team.

The asking price is at least €50m, but so far nobody has come close to that figure, at least no club that Zaniolo would be prepared to join.

Milan had seemed to be the favourites over the last few days, but they won’t go beyond €40m and would try to use a player exchange to lower the cost.

Sky Sport Italia reported last night that Juventus are back in the hunt after Angel Di Maria seemed to veer towards Barcelona as a free agent instead.

However, with nobody able to make an irresistible offer, Roma could end up holding on to their talent who turns 23 next month.

7 thought on “Milan and Juventus not irresistible for Zaniolo or Roma”
  1. Too steep, man…. even with a counterpart. Too uncertain in terms of injuries at such a young age.

  2. How much would our beloved AC Milan want to pay? Because the world revolves around them after one Serie A success in years. Every team should just give in to Milans demands because hey, it’s Milan and we are all lucky to be able to play them. Bunch of privileged nobs.

  3. I don’t understand why we aren’t raiding all the young talent in other leagues. Hlozek from Sparta Prague woulda been a great pick up. There’s a lot of talent in Ajax aswell as the Belgium league.

  4. Roma have little interest in selling Zaniolo and no interest in selling him to a direct rival. Their interest is in seeing if he has recovered completely and if he can continue to show improvement. They will sign him to a better contract during the summer. Selling Zaniolo at this point would indicate a lack of ambition on their part, and a lack of ambition has hardly been characteristic of Mourinho or the Friedkins. He has the potential to be a big game player. These kinds of far-fetched stories are typical when a player wants to renegotiate his contract. Roma would have to offer an irrationally low extension, and Zaniolo would have to be an enormous jerk to force a move at this time. The club helped him recover from two serious injuries and the Roma faithful love him. He will stay at Roma.

  5. Zaniolo is an AM. Signing him at 22 yo means we give up on young Daniel Maldini, and it is a shame.
It’s high time we gave this lad a chance to shine (like his father had his chances, and his grandfather too).

  6. This is what I really hate about American owners bloody hell take some cash out if you want to win more silverware u need to spend not cull the good players build around them
