Roma and Napoli have barred Fabian Ruiz and Borja Mayoral from joining the Spain squad for the Olympics, but Milan do let Pierre Kalulu attend.
This is one of the tournaments that clubs do have the right to refuse releasing their players.
According to AS, Napoli and Roma have decided to prevent Fabian Ruiz and Borja Mayoral from taking part in the competition, to be played in Tokyo.
It will run from July 23 to August 8 and the football competition will be open to the Under-23 squad, along with a few over-age additions.
Mayoral expressed his disappointment at the news via social media, posting a sad face in response to the tweet.
On the other hand, Milan do release defender Kalulu for the France squad.
