Mike Maignan is out of the Milan squad travelling for tomorrow’s Serie A match against Sassuolo, but should be fit to face Roma in the Europa League.

It kicks off at the Mapei Stadium on Sunday at 14.00 UK time (13.00 GMT).

The Rossoneri are widely expected to rotate the squad for this fixture, as coach Stefano Pioli prepares his men to overturn a 1-0 first leg defeat to Roma in the Europa League quarter-final.

However, Maignan will not even make the journey to Reggio-Emilia, as he has been diagnosed with a slight muscular issue.

Sky Sport Italia report it is purely a precaution to leave him at home and the France international is not in doubt for the Roma clash at the Stadio Olimpico next Thursday.

Marco Sportiello will therefore take the gloves against Sassuolo.

There are suggestions Pioli could use a 4-3-3 formation with the entire back four changed other than left-back Theo Hernandez.

Samuel Chukwueze, Luka Jovic and Noah Okafor should start in an all-new trident.

Probable: Sportiello; Florenzi, Kjaer, Tomori, Theo Hernandez; Musah, Adli, Reijnders; Chukwueze, Jovic, Okafor
