Jurgen Klopp goes into the Champions League Final against Carlo Ancelotti and has suffered in the past when dealing with Italian tacticians.

Liverpool and Real Madrid go head-to-head at 20.00 UK time (19.00 GMT) at the Stade de France.

Fabio Capello outlined how there are four different football cultures at play in this Final, the German Klopp leading an English side against Italian Ancelotti in charge of a Spanish club.

In general, Klopp has struggled against Italian tacticians in the past, including this season, when Liverpool suffered their only Champions League defeat against Simone Inzaghi’s Inter at Anfield.

Klopp has only beaten Antonio Conte once, losing one of their meetings and drawing the other four, including a 1-1 against Tottenham earlier this month that effectively handed the Premier League title to Manchester City.

Claudio Ranieri’s Leicester City beat Liverpool 2-0 in February 2016, but the veteran lost the other three encounters.

Maurizio Sarri’s Chelsea won their first match against Liverpool in 2018, then drew and lost the others.

There was a somewhat chaotic Champions League semi-final in 2018 against Eusebio Di Francesco’s Roma, winning the first leg 5-2 and losing the second 4-2.

Gian Piero Gasperini’s Atalanta were capable of losing 5-0 at home to Liverpool in the Champions League, but also winning 2-0 at Anfield that same month in November 2020.

  1. Not winning by a goal is graceful, what would have been an eyesore and not permissible by UK echelon is to not win by 20 mysterious goals in the last 5 mins of any match with RM or Barca of the past.

Klopp is still the best. And a nice guy like Mancio-nice guys finish last on earth but they inherit the kingdom in eternity.
