According to Tuttosport, Juventus general manager Giuseppe Marotta had hoped to bring the centre-back on a free transfer, as his contract expires at the end of the season.

However, PSG can trigger an automatic one-year renewal, except for in the unlikely event that they fail to qualify for the Champions League.

Despite this, the newspaper reports that contacts are ongoing between the Bianconeri and Silva, with the aim of bringing him for a reduced fee in the summer.

Silva earns around €6m net per season, so it’s likely he would have to cut his wages, but he may be willing to do so in exchange for a lengthy contract.
