Juventus fans are jokingly engaging in ‘Landuccimania’ after two excellent performances under Max Allegri’s assistant manager Marco Landucci.

The understudy took centre stage last week in a thrilling comeback from 3-1 down to beat Roma 4-3 in Serie A.

He was back on the touchline again for last night’s 4-1 Coppa Italia win over Udinese in Turin.

These have been easily the two best Juve performances of recent months, prompting some to suggest having Allegri sitting out a ban might not be so bad for the team.

They have jokingly dubbed it Landuccimania, with memes referencing the movie La La Land and suggesting in seven years’ time we’ll see Landucci like Pep Guardiola with a cupboard full of trophies behind him.

“With Landucci we get goals from Rugani, De Sciglio and score directly from a free kick. What are we waiting for to give him the bench permanently?”

Some were a little more specific, listening to the things the two tacticians tended to shout from the touchline during games.

Allegri: ‘Calm down!’

Landucci: ‘Faster!’

  1. Do not worry Max will be disciplining Landucci for not shutting up shop and sitting deep after the first goal was scored. He will be promptly sent to detention and forced to read the catenaccio bible Max keeps in his pocket at all times and reads before bed every night.

Max will be showing him the way come Sunday when he plays an entirely different midfield for the 400th time this season, but sideshow Sandro can keep his place and gift Milan a present. All players will be sat deep and on the counter he will ask Morata to run 60 yards with nobody running in support. Got to man the barricades.

  2. Ok First of all, Allegri prepares the team before the game. Second of all, Allegri gives the team instructions the day before the game. Third of all, he picks the starting 11 and he might have picked the subs also. Finally, all we did is beat a Samp side who were saving their energy for the league. @LORD ALLEGRI PATRON SAINT OF SLOW BALL If you watched the full last 5 games we played, we played them all with attacking intent the only problem was that we couldn’t finish our opportunities. So watch the games instead of just looking at the score.

  3. Rabbit I watch all big games whether that is the premier league, la liga or serie a as I love the game, but the game has evolved and left the PhD catenaccio master behind. He does not even know his best midfield. The genius has even deployed Rabiot as a left winger more than twice this season. Arthur looks like he is heading to Arsenal and this obsession with Bentancur is not surprising as even sideways Sandro is still pretty much the first choice at left back. Rabbit the scoreline is important as without scoring games are not won. That is why 10 teams have outscored Juventus. Now a lot of those teams are behind but that is nothing to start praising as the great club should not be in that position ever. Tinkering with the midfield every game is not a great idea as the clock is ticking. I stand by my name as this guy is a joke. He only won due to Conte. His team resemb

  4. The ball is lost every 2 seconds. There is no energy and they look lacklustre especially when entering the finale of matches, barring Roma as they are a crazy team.

  5. @LORD ALLEGRI : in the last 11 games Juve have 27 points – only inter has more with 28. Juve caught 11 points on Napoli and this is all without a pure # 9 – just imagine Juve with a #9 they will steamroll opponents.

It’s not landucci that’s creating the offense – it’s the fact that Arthur has been on the field for most of the goals lately – it’s not a coincidence !!!!

  6. Lord Allegri, I agree with everything you said, except for your last point about Conte. Firstly, Conte was, and continues to be, a compete failure in the UCL. Allegri managed to get Juve to two UCL finals (which these last 8 years, given the money situation in Italy is near impossible). So no thanks to Conte there. As for the Serie A, yes, Conte gave Juve it’s never-say-die DNA back and managed 3 titles, but the team changed dramatically upfront and in midfield from those early years and Allegri still managed to win 5 straight, as well as 4 Coppa Italias and two Supercups. I think Allegri is the wrong manager for the rebuilding of this Juventus team which was damaged by Paratici. What Landucci has shown is that the talent is there, it just needs to be allowed to flourish – Allegri won’t allow it to flourish.

  7. frankie, getting to 2 CL finals is not an achievement and it is sad that this is being brought up to defend PhD Max. Those were defeats and do you think bigger clubs like Real Madrid count the amount of times they have lost in Europe. They win their finals and it is because they have an elite winning mentality. Same with the old Barcelona who never lost finals. I will agree money is king, but Juventus were thrashed in those finals, same as 1997 against BVB. Bottling is in their nature. Do not forget Conte had a much poorer squad to work with and he has a record of building teams from the ground up. Even Italy looked revitalised under him. Give Allegri the keys to Man City and he will destroy everything Pep helped create. Gundogan will be a defensive midfielder, Rodri will be tested as a centre back and they will play conservatively. You cannot teach an old dog new tricks, at least not this one. Yes Allegri sets up the team and Landucci is only there to carry out the work. But one has to consider what Landucci is saying on the touchline. Every time I hear the PhD he is barking at everyone to calm down. That is code for slow the ball down and not take any risks. No wonder why the team is so shaky at back and too slow to play it out from their own box. Nervous energy and a coach who does not realise they are not suited to play it safe. That squad has still enough talent to step it up mentally. As for Branca talking about a number 9, then go and get one. Do not make excuses as this squad has been left to rust for the last 5 years at least.

  8. @ lord allegri:

got to hand it to this muppet. supposedly hates Juventus but most messages about them are by him. 1 each from his 36 different usernames, hehehe.

Juve owns those 3 brain cells you posses, boy.

    😘

  9. I am a dingus and just learnt that “Crickey” is from Australia lol, not the UK doh!!! Forgive me I was born on a trailer park with 30 siblings, wearing diapers at the age of 37 and actually thought that Australian was a language.🤣

Do not blame me as I also that thought 2+2= 1 and that our neighbors Canada was a country in Latin America. 🤣

I give you danger boy the resident numpty of this forum and user of 57 usernames and now supporter of Internazionale. Former supporter of Juventus as well as AC Milan.

  10. Sorry Lord Allegri, but you can’t defend Conte’s abysmal UCL record. By the way, getting to a UCL final means typically for a Serie A team, around $90 mill prize money – so yes coming runner up does count a hell of a lot and Juve with Allegri at the helm at the time managed to get there twice and no other Italian team has got that close in 11 years and is not likely to now given the financial state of Italian football. I’d rather be the second best team in Europe that year than a team that can’t get out of the group stages.
