Juventus have said midfielder Weston McKennie will be out for three weeks after suffering a shoulder injury.

The USA international missed the final pre-season friendly of his homeland, which the Bianconeri lost 2-0 against Real Madrid and is also set to miss the start of the Serie A campaign.

A Juve statement read: “Weston McKennie underwent radiological examinations at J | Medical this morning, which revealed a capsular lesion of the left shoulder.

“The player will begin rehabilitation, three weeks’ differentiated work will be required.”

The news is particularly concerning for Juve as they will also be without fellow midfielder Paul Pogba for a number of weeks.

The France international is reportedly having a consultation later on Monday to determine how best to deal with his knee injury and could miss the rest of 2022 – including the World Cup.

Juve still have one pre-season match left to play as they face LaLiga side Atlético Madrid in Tel Aviv, Israel on August 7.

The Serie A season with the visit of Sassuolo eight days later before they travel to Sampdoria on August 22 for their first away match of the campaign.

Juve also confirmed midfielder Marley Aké will be sidelined for two months due to a compound fracture of the third distal of the right fibula.
