Juventus are preparing an assault for young Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma to replace Gianluigi Buffon, reports say.

The Bianconeri have been searching for a long-term replacement for their Captain, who will turn 39 at the end of January.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan are preparing to protect their prized asset from such interest, and are ready to offer an improved contract worth a reported €4.5m per year.

The player’s representative is Mino Raiola, and the agent told the Press about the interest from other clubs, and Milan’s desire to retain the 17-year-old.

"Of course he has a great future. He knows where he’s going..

“Juve, Chelsea and Manchester City are courting him but Milan do not want to lose him and will try to lock him down.

"[Beppe] Marotta is pressing. Juventus want to find an heir to Buffon and will try to bring [Donnarumma] to Turin at all costs.

"Regarding his contract, in 2018 he is due to earn €175,000. With Galliani there was a promise of renewal to 2019."
