Ex-Palermo Coach Davide Ballardini has revealed that 'he would return' to the club, even after two separate spells in charge last year.

Speaking for the first time since he resigned at the beginning of the season after just two games, he revealed that he couldn't 'agree with the club on anything'.

"Palermo were a compact, serious, and united team, who played well," the 52-year-old told Tuttomercatoweb. "We only lost against Sassuolo.

"Against Marseille and Bari in preseason, as well as against Inter we had proven ourselves to be a serious, capable and well-organised team.

"The work was started in the right way, but then myself and the club did not agree."

Was this due to issues over the transfer market?

"Absolutely not. The team was composed of serious young, capable people who were united as a squad.

"After my resignation reinforcements arrived in [Alessandro] Diamanti and Bruno Henrique. [Giancarlo] Gonzalez returned, but I had left him out because he wanted a move away.

"If you add those three to that team you become seriously competitive. Me and my staff had fun, because when you're dealing with serious guys, you can go out on the pitch and do that.

"The President stated that he had given me a good team that he expected to be in the top ten and that I needed to play them in a certain way.

"I could not find an agreement on anything. You have to get along, otherwise it is right to separate for the good of all.

Would Ballardini ever go back?

"Well, I would enjoy it a lot. I used to go onto the field with confidence and enthusiasm.

They are wonderful guys at Palermo. I often return to town, everybody knows that. I live there most of the year with my family."
