The Giallorossi have finished second for two years in a row, but finished 17 points adrift of champions Juventus last season.

“We have a strong team, but this season will be very difficult for us, and for every team,” Iturbe admitted in a Press conference from the Giallorossi’s training camp at Pinzolo.

Inter and Milan are getting stronger, it will be a good season. Roma are doing good things, starting with our physical preparation.

“We’re aiming for a good start this season, because we know the other teams are getting stronger.”

Iturbe was considered a disappointment in his first season with the Lupi, having moved for big money from Verona.

However, the 22-year-old says he’s ready to show what he can do his season.

“I’ve always been a professional, I want to work even harder. I’m young, I have a huge desire to learn, and to give 100 per cent in training.

“There will always be critics, but I don’t listen to what is said unless it comes from my Coach or teammates, I’m mentally strong.

“When I wasn’t doing well, I always worked to be better. I arrived with a huge desire to show what I’d done at Verona, I should have gone slower.

“I hope to start well this season.”
