According to Italian sports papers, Alex Sandro, Adrien Rabiot and Alvaro Morata were the worst Juventus players against Napoli, while the media did not blame Massimiliano Allegri.

Juventus picked up a 1-1 draw against the Partenopei last night, but Napoli were without many regular starters, due to COVID, injuries and the Africa Cup of Nations.

Italian sports papers highlight how the Bianconeri wasted a chance to close the gap with the top four.

Five points are still dividing Juventus and the Partenopei in the table and Max Allegri’s side are now three points behind Atalanta in fourth, but La Dea has a game in hand.

Allegri was rated 6/10 by Tuttosport and Il Corriere dello Sport and 5.5 by La Gazzetta dello Sport.

All papers acknowledged that Juventus ‘should have done more’ but pin the blame on some Bianconeri stars, especially Morata, Rabiot and Alex Sandro.

Morata’s Christmas break was quite chaotic as the Spaniard had agreed to join Barcelona on an 18-month loan. However, Allegri blocked his move to the Nou Camp as Juventus cannot afford a valuable replacement in the January transfer window.

His future in Turin remains up in the air, with Juventus unlikely to sign him permanently from Atletico Madrid at the end of the season.

He was rated 5/10 by Gazzetta and Tuttosport and 6 by Il Corriere dello Sport.

Alex Sandro and Rabiot had even lower grades the Brazilian defender was rated 4 by Tuttosport and 4.5 by La Gazzetta dello Sport and was blamed for Napoli’s opener.

Rabiot also put in another disappointing performance and was rated 5 by Gazzetta and Corriere dello Sport and 4.5 by Tuttosport who saw ‘too many errors’ in his performance.

Juventus return to the pitch on Sunday against José Mourinho’s Roma at the Stadio Olimpico.

3 thought on “Italian media blame Juventus trio, not Allegri after draw against Napoli”
  1. Locatelli must be in there, surely. He has been one of the more consistent for juve this season but had a really bad game.

  2. I love Moratta as a centre forward but it seems unfair not to let him join Barca, especially as Juve do not intend keeping him. He is a professional but how can we expect him to react other than to lose some motivation?
