Parma have insisted that Milan’s Pippo Inzaghi was too old to be considered as a January transfer target.

The veteran striker, 38, was linked with a switch to the Gialloblu last month given his uncertain future at San Siro.

“No, we were not after Inzaghi,” director general Pietro Leonardi noted. “We tried to bring in players from a certain age group for the future.

“We signed Roma striker Stefano Okaka, a player who clearly has potential for improvement.”

Inzaghi rejected numerous offers, including a tempting deadline day approach from Siena, in order to remain at the Giuseppe Meazza.

Meanwhile, the Stadio Tardini official dismissed suggestions that they were ready to sell Daniele Galloppa.

“Never,” he responded. “We always said that he would stay. He is part of the future here and is indispensible for our project.

“There were never any talks over a possible sale.”

Fiorentina were paired with the 26-year-old midfielder in January.
