Simone Inzaghi wants a different result in today’s match against Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio.

The Nerazzurri have only lost one league match so far this campaign; a 3-1 loss to the Biancocelesti back in October, a disappointing return to the Stadio Olimpico for the Italian coach.

Speaking to DAZN ahead of tonight’s match against Lazio, Inzaghi presented the clash at the San Siro.

“I think every match is a different story, in the first leg we did very well for 65 minutes then the penalty changed the match. Three months have passed, things have changed, but we know we’re facing a quality team and we have to do well.”

The Inter coach then discussed Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, who is endlessly linked with a move away from the Roman club.

“We know him, he’ll be a special player to watch like others because Lazio are a well-matched team with great individuals.”

Inter entered this matchday top of the Serie A table, even if their match against Bologna on Thursday was called off due to the COVID situation.

Inzaghi has had an incredible start in Milan, losing only one match and guiding the team to the Champions League Round of 16. They will face Liverpool over two legs starting next month.

The Nerazzurri’s next match is the Supercoppa Italiana final against Juventus on January 12, before they face Atalanta in Bergamo on January 16. The derby against Milan is also fast approaching, scheduled for February 6.
