Simone Inzaghi believes Inter will be among Lazio’s challengers for Champions League qualification.

The two sides meet tomorrow, with the Nerazzurri seven points adrift of Napoli in third-place and the Aquile level with the Partenopei.

“They’re built to get into the top-three,” Inzaghi insisted in his pre-match Press conference.

“They have a well-equipped squad, because of the Europa League and a few injuries they’ve lost ground, but now with [Stefano] Pioli they’re one of our competitors.

“They’re built to get into the top-three,” Inzaghi insisted in his pre-match Press conference.

“They have a well-equipped squad, because of the Europa League and a few injuries they’ve lost ground, but now with [Stefano] Pioli they’re one of our competitors.

“Pioli is one more weapon for Inter, he knows us well including myself. Inter have good players, they’re finding certainty and results and they have a deep squad. We’ll have to be ready.

“Antonio Candreva? They [he and Pioli] are two people I’ll be happy to see again, I talked a lot about football with Pioli as we worked side-by-side, and I had a very good relationship with Candreva.”

The Biancocelesti have struggled against the big sides this season, losing to Juventus, Roma and Milan.

Fiorentina aren’t considered among the big teams, but they’re a team with an excellent Coach who were fighting at the top with Inter in the first half of last season,” Inzaghi pointed out after Sunday’s 3-1 win over the Viola.

“We did really well for 50 minutes, then we dropped off a bit and they grew. Now we have another direct clash.

“We lost against Milan, Juventus and Roma where we made too many mistakes. With the other teams you can recover, but teams like that don’t allow it.

“I think it’s important that we’re not losing to the smaller teams though, everyone in Italy is well-organised.

“Inter are well-equipped, and we haven’t had many days to prepare for this match.

“We want to end the year with a positive result, that’s normal. We’re facing a great team which has invested a lot of money on the transfer market.

“They’ve had some problems, but they have a great Coach who I know well and who has already given positive signs to the team.

“We want to end the year in the best way.”
