Inter will reportedly offer a contract extension to their captain Samir Handanovic despite the imminent signing of Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana.
The Cameroon international will move to San Siro on a free transfer at the end of the season.
He has already undergone his medicals with the Serie A champions, who will soon announce his signing.
However, Onana is not expected to become Inter’s regular starter in 2022-23 as the Nerazzurri hope Samir Handanovic will extend his expiring contract.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper, Inter will soon sit down with the veteran goalkeeper to offer him a new one-year deal.
The Nerazzurri want to extend with the 37-year-old who can help Onana settle in at the club in his first season at San Siro.
Handanovic produced some decisive saves in Inter’s 0-0 draw against Atalanta last night and was named MVP by La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Serie A champions have conceded just three goals in the last nine Serie A games.

Samir will get plenty of chances, I don’t know why Inter would sign a goalkeeper that goes away for a month for international duty but that helps our abundance of keepers next season… I had real high hopes for Radu, and there are a couple of amazing young Italian keepers like Vicario, to the old and wise Cragno, who for me would be better but… Moratta knows best!

Do not worry about the pub team of Europe and serial whipping boys of grown man European football. Let them worry about their own mess. Onana is a fine addition and the old man still has it as he saved Inter from defeat against Atalanta. Now they are most likely getting Dybala and it will be good seeing this happen as the old granny will now get a taste of their own medicine.
