Inter midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu sustained a suspected muscle injury during the first half of Turkey’s match against Croatia on Tuesday.
The Turkey international was subbed off at minute 38. He appeared to have suffered a muscle injury in his left thigh and was replaced by Ismail Yuksek.
The ex-Milan midfielder may need to undergo medical checks in Milan in the coming days upon his return from international duty.
Calhanoglu has played a key role for Simone Inzaghi’s Inter this season, with three goals and six assists in 36 appearances across all competitions.
He joined the Nerazzurri as a free agent from Milan in 2021 and his current deal runs through June 2024. However, the Serie A giants are in advanced talks to extend his contract at the Stadio Meazza.
Inter meet Fiorentina at San Siro on Saturday, April 1, in the first Serie A match after the international break. They will visit Juventus on April 4 in the first leg of the Coppa Italia semis.
