Edin Dzeko had his medical today, but Inter are finding it far tougher to bring in either Duvan Zapata from Atalanta or Lazio’s Joaquin Correa after Romelu Lukaku arrives for Chelsea.

Roma striker Dzeko has put pen to paper on a two-year contract, with the Giallorossi seemingly receiving nothing except for €1.8m in bonuses if Inter qualify for the Champions League.

However, they need another big name to make up for the loss of Lukaku, who landed in London this evening to complete his €115m move to Chelsea.

According to La Repubblica, the first choice as far as coach Simone Inzaghi is concerned is Tucu Correa, who he already worked with at Lazio for many years.

Correa has made it clear he wants to leave the Stadio Olimpico and does not particularly fit into new boss Maurizio Sarri’s plans either.

The problem is that Inter’s offer is €26m, whereas Lazio want somewhere between €30-40m to release the Argentina international.

It seems as if Inter directors would favour Duvan Zapata for his similarity in physique and playing style to Lukaku, whereas Correa would force either Dzeko or Lautaro Martinez to be the centre-forward.

There are problems here too, as Atalanta want €40-50m to release the Colombian hitman and that is again a long way off the Inter proposal, as explained by La Repubblica.

Duvan Zapata played in today’s Atalanta friendly, providing two assists as they beat Serie B club Alessandria 7-1.
