Atalanta demolished Serie B side Alessandria 7-1 in a pre-season friendly, with transfer gossip figures Josip Ilicic and Duvan Zapata impressing.

La Dea made short work of newly-promoted Alessandria at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo, as they were 4-1 up by half-time.

Only yesterday it was reported Ilicic was no longer on the market, despite having been close to Milan, and resolved his issues with coach Gian Piero Gasperini.

That seemed to be the case, as he started the match and scored twice in the first half, including a spectacular left-foot curler.

Giorgio Scalvini opened the scoring on the rebound from a Roberto Piccoli effort, with Mario Pasalic also on target.

After the break, Luis Muriel converted a penalty for a foul on Pessina, then Inter target Duvan Zapata created assists for both Robin Gosens and Rafael Toloi.

Atalanta: Musso (Sportiello 59); Lovato (Djimsiti 46), Demiral (Toloi 59), Scalvini (Palomino 59); Ghislandi (Gosens 46), Del Prato (Muriel 46), Pasalic (Freuler 59), Pezzella (Maehle 46); Miranchuk (Pessina 46), Ilicic (Malinovskyi 59); Piccoli (Duvan Zapata 46)
