Gennaro Gattuso admits he is “a bit annoyed” by Milan being forced to train indoors for their Coppa Italia semi-final with Lazio on Wednesday due to snow.

Heavy snowfall has forced Milan to use a hotel’s gym facilities for training, while Lazio’s Formello base was completely blanketed, leaving them unable to work out at the complex until Tuesday.

“We must keep this level of performance up. Now we’re focused on Wednesday,” the Coach told Milan TV, referring to his side’s 2-0 win at Roma on Sunday.

“We’re a bit annoyed: snow hadn’t been seen in Roma for years. We’ve worked in the gym, but I’d have preferred us to work on the pitch.

“We must recover our energy and think about our upcoming games. We’ll play every three days.

“We must raise the bar because we face teams with great individuals. We must show compactness and keep up how we’ve playing for the last two months.

“Lazio? We must be attentive to their quality. They’re hard to tackle, they have quality players.

“They’re a well-built team, who combine quality and quantity, so we have to be careful and have the perfect match.

“The most important thing is to recover our energy and gain a better understanding of how we execute our gameplan and face certain teams.”

The tie is perfectly poised at 0-0 from the first leg, with the winners set to meet either Juventus or Atalanta in the Final.
