Gian Piero Ventrone’s son Ivan visited Antonio Conte at Tottenham’s training ground today, posing with the Italian tactician close to an Evergreen Oak tree planted in memory of the fitness coach who had died in October.

Ventrone died in Naples on October 6 2022. He was probably the most prominent fitness coach in Italy, having worked – among others – for Juventus, Italy’s national team and Tottenham, where he followed his close friend Antonio Conte in 2021.

Ventrone’s son Ivan visited the ex-Juventus and Inter coach at Tottenham’s training ground today, posing close to an Italian Evergreen Oak tree planted in October in memory of his father.

“Ivan, today you made me a great surprise,” wrote Conte on Instagram.

“The friendship with your father has deep roots and will continue with you and your family. Always with me, GPV.”

Conte had worked with Ventrone during his playing and coaching career. They first met in Turin in the ’90s when the ex-midfielder was playing for the Old Lady. They returned to the club in 2011-12 when Conte was appointed by the Bianconeri and went on to win the first three Scudetti after the Calciopoli scandal.
