Former Monaco goalkeeper Flavio Roma says Juventus’ Gianluigi Buffon is ‘arguably the best ever’.
Roma’s former side take on Buffon’s Bianconeri at Juventus Stadium tonight in the Champions League Quarter Finals, and the 40-year-old has praised his fellow ‘keeper.
“Buffon can play until he’s 40,” the former Milan man predicted in an interview with Tele Radio Stereo.
“He’s arguably the best [goalkeeper] ever. I say this as a goalkeeper and someone who played against him on the pitch.

“As long as he’s playing, there’s no room for anyone else.”
Roma has now retired from football, having won three caps for Italy, and admits he’s torn over the game tonight.
“Tonight is a game which means a lot for me. Monaco are in my heart, I played over 200 games in the principality.
“That said, I’m grateful to [Juventus general manager Giuseppe] Marotta, because he brought me to Venezia, focusing on me even though I was very young.
“And then, I also know [Juventus Coach Max] Allegri well, because I worked with him when I was at Milan and we had a great relationship.”
