Former Roma striker Bojan Krkic claims Luis Enrique rejected the chance to sign Marco Verratti, as he didn’t think he was good enough.
Currently at Stoke City, Bojan spent the 2011/12 season in the Italian capital, and says the Giallorossi missed out on the Paris Saint-Germain playmaker.
“It seemed like it was all done, but [then-Coach] Luis Enrique objected at the last minute,” the 24-year-old told Cadena Ser.
“He didn’t think Verratti was at the level of the rest of the squad.”
