With the AFCON and AFC Asian Cup taking place in January 2024, up to 51 players could leave Serie A clubs with Salernitana and Udinese among the most affected.

The Africa Cup of Nations – AFCON – will be hosted by Ivory Coast from January 13 to February 11, 2024, while the Asian Cup will be staged from January 12 to February 10 in Qatar.

La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that up to 51 Serie A players could be involved in the competitions with Victor Osimhen, Ademloa Lookman, Samuel Chukwueze and Daichi Kamada among the most notable names missing Serie A matches in the first month of the year.

African and Asian countries have yet to name their squads for the upcoming tournaments, but it is pretty easy to predict which clubs could be mostly affected.

Inter and Juventus, for example, already know that none of their players will leave in January, while Milan expect Chukwueze to be called up by Nigeria’s national team. Ismael Bennacer remains in doubt for Algeria having recently returned to action from a knee injury.
