Chelsea have surprisingly parted ways with their coach Thomas Tuchel, a decision also concerning their Champions League group rivals Milan and Inter who loaned Romelu Lukaku from the Blues this summer.

The Blues have announced the sacking of the German tactician with an official statement following last night’s defeat against Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League.

Chelsea are in Group E with Milan and will face the Rossoneri on October 5 (at Stamford Bridge) and 11 (San Siro).

The Premier League giants have specified that ‘there will be no further comment until a new head coach appointment is made.’

Milan picked up a 1-1 draw away at RB Salzburg in their debut group stage game yesterday.

Tuchel’s firing strictly concerns Milan’s city rivals Inter, who welcomed Romelu Lukaku back to the club on loan this summer.

The Belgian forward was not on good terms with the German tactician and pushed to return to his ex-club at the end of 2021-22.

The Nerazzurri paid €8m for the player’s loan until 2023 and don’t have an option to make his move permanent at the end of the season.

There are reports of talks between Inter and the Blues over a potential permanent transfer for Lukaku but Tuchel’s departure surely changes the scenario and it remains to be seen what will happen with the Belgian’s future at San Siro beyond 2023 following today’s major development.

6 thought on “Chelsea part company with Tuchel: why it concerns Inter and Milan”
  1. Bad for Milan if a manager comes in and improves them, but who knows? They spent a fortune but don’t look much better.

As for Lukaku not signing permanently, well, that might be for the best. Serie A sides need to stop spending what little money they have on ageing epl players on huge wages.

  2. Don’t be surprised to see Lukaku go back to Chelsea after the world cup, professing his childhood love for the club again.

  3. The primer league fan boy site continues. It’s a stupid link to Italian football with ‘Milan in there group’ or Lukaku at Chelsea. Any tenuous like to the EPL gets reported here. Tedesco was sacked by Lipzig also. He is actually an Italian manager but you don’t feel the need to report that.
This site has become a sham of ‘Italian football’ it reports nothing of outside the top 6 teams or Serie B unless it’s got a link to the EPL
If I want to read about the EPL I’d be looking at a site for that news

  4. InterFanatic AKA Lord Allegri will not be here to discuss how his dear club is at the nercy of a small London club.
