Sassuolo chairman Giovanni Carnevali spoke about the growth of the team’s young stars and their status ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Neroverdi are known for producing talented players of Serie A quality like Manuel Locatelli and now a number of their prospects seem set for a move to a big club, including Giacomo Raspadori, Gianluca Scamacca and Davide Frattesi.

Speaking to La Repubblica, Carnevali discussed when Sassuolo would start talks for their young stars.

“Negotiations, if there are any, will be started at the end of the season like what happened last year with Locatelli.

“Although I hope they will be less long and nerve-wracking. However, relations with Juventus have always been good.”

He then touched on the growth of Raspadori, Scamacca, Frattesi and Berardi.

“An exceptional result, unbelievable. And a few years ago I would never have thought that three of our players would be part of the national team and win the European Championship.”

It will be a busy summer for Sassuolo, who could sell all or none of their talented youngsters, with no shortage of interest in top clubs in Italy and abroad. Clubs like Juventus, Inter and Milan are set to be knocking on the Neroverdi’s door come June, ready for a competitive set of negotiations.

Sassuolo currently sit 10th in the Serie A table and are not involved in the race for European competition, being 10 points behind 6th place Lazio.
