As Investcorp’s takeover of Milan nears it’s completion, time has come for them to provide Stefano Pioli with a much needed striker.

A flurry of players have been linked with a move to the Rossoneri following the announcement of the Bahraini investment fund’s interest in purchasing the club from Elliott management, but which ones should Milan look to focus on?

1 – Christopher Nkunku

The 24-year-old Frenchman is having his breakout season in Germany with RB Leipzig, scoring 17 goals and providing 15 assists in 31 Bundesliga appearances this campaign. Contracted to the club until 2024, this summer seems like the perfect time to snap up Nkunku.

The French striker would slot in nicely to Pioli’s squad, giving him a much needed reinforcement up front. Nkunku is a creative and decisive player who both produces and finishes chances, the exact player that the Rossoneri are missing.

2 – Sébastien Haller

The 27-year-old Ivorian forward is also proving his chops this campaign, scoring 33 goals in 39 appearances across all competitions, including 11 in eight Champions League games.

Ajax are reportedly willing to accept around €45m for Haller, making a deal relatively accessible considering his quality.

3 – Victor Osimhen

The most expensive on this list, the 23-year-old Nigerian forward has shown that he has what it takes to shine in Serie A, scoring 12 goals and providing four assists in 23 league matches this campaign.

Osimhen would not come cheap, however, and Napoli would likely want around €100m for him, making a deal incredibly difficult to imagine, but not impossible.

10 thought on “Three strikers Investcorp should bring to Milan”
  1. 27 is not that old, relatively, but something needs to be said for the fact that Haller is only now “breaking out” and it’s in the Eredivisie. So I’m not so certain about him. I think I’d probably take Scamacca over Haller. Scamacca would also help with the homegrown requirements for the CL, which everyone seems to be forgetting about.

  2. Nkunku is the only one worth any salt. Sebastian haller is okay if we can’t get any of our primary targets.

Osimhen.. NO. Insanely overrated. Not worth anything over 30 Mil. Has done NOTHING to justify 100Mil price tag. Injury prone. JUST NO.

  3. Nkunu would be an excellent ACM – pair him with Leao and add Darwin Nunez as our striker and watch out…add a RW – Mahrez, Lang, and sky is the limit.

  4. Wait Osimhen scored 12 goals as many as Pinamonti – as it stands and yet -one is to sold as not worthy to play for inter while the other is a 100m value…Wonder how the maths work in this instance?

  5. sign belotti/origi for free. or both of them. and we have 3 great striker in giroud, belotti and origi. ibra can retire. For amc buy nkunku, keep diaz as back up for nkunku, and for rw, berardi would be great addition for pioli.

  6. @Milan4lyf

Injury prone? Not really. Yes, he’s been out a few times, but one was a smashed cheekbone – that isn’t injury prone, that’s just bad luck. And Milan would take Osimhen in a heartbeat.

    @Geo

Bit more to it than that. How much did Osimhen cost? That has to be taken into consideration. And this is Pinamonti’s first season to do anything, so he has to prove himself further.

  7. osimen not worth more then 30 mil
he can score but he is not a good footballer. zero technique – it doesn’t work against high level opponents.
