Borriello, however, is reported by Palermo24.net as seeming to prefer the Sicilian capital to Cesena as a place to relaunch his career.

This decision from the player, it is believed, is based in part on how previous loan spells at Juventus, Genoa, and West Ham United saw him fail to impress.

Palermo are said to have offered to pay €800,000 thousand euros of Borriello’s €3.3m salary, whilst Roma are reportedly considering the bid.

The Giallorossi are understood as likely to ask for a further €600,000 to €800,000 to close out the deal with Palermo successfully.
