Juventus President Andrea Agnelli believes that his club’s defeat in the Champions League Final marks a ‘starting point for the future’.
The Bianconeri were beaten 3-1 by Barcelona in Berlin on Saturday evening, but the President reflected on a season he believes has lifted the Old Lady back to the European summit.
“The Champions League Final is our starting point for the future, although we know that getting to the final is tough for everyone,” he said during a Press conference on Monday morning.

“The Champions League Final is our starting point for the future, although we know that getting to the final is tough for everyone,” he said during a Press conference on Monday morning.
“We certainly leave with some mixed feelings about the match in Berlin. We put in a fantastic performance and it bodes well for the future.
“But it’s obvious that when you play in the final of the Champions League you play to win it, like with any match that Juventus plays.
“Looking back at Juve’s history in Europe, I think we’ve returned to the level where we all want to be.
“After the matches against Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid, we were able to play an open game against Barcelona.”
Agnelli pointed towards the next step of progress for Juventus in Europe, but warned against hopes of another final in nearby host city Milan next year.
“I’d like us to be able to negotiate the group stage with less stress, perhaps reaching the Last 16 with a game or two to spare.
“It’d be wrong to think that as Milan is just next door, we’re sure to be there for the Champions League Final next year.
“It’s been an exceptional season and we should all be proud of our achievements.”
