The Old Lady narrowly missed out on the treble when they were beaten 3-1 by Barcelona in the Champions League final in Berlin on Saturday.

"It's a privilege for me to be in charge of a group of leaders, each one doing a very professional job in their area of expertise,” he said in a Press conference on Monday morning.

“I'd like to thank Massimiliano Alleggri for the way he's come in and taken over at the helm in a historic period for Juve.

“All I can do is express my gratitude to [Giuseppe] Marotta, [Fabio] Paratici and Nedved for the way they run the sports side of the club.

"Club, coaching staff and players are all part of the same entity: everyone is useful but no one is indispensable."

"I'd like to thank every man and woman that works at Juventus. Yesterday we set about building our success of the years to come.”

Agnelli outlined how he foresees the club developing in the next few years through improved facilities and strong finances.

"In two or three years' time, we'll have a new 'Mondo Juventus' in Continassa, and Vinovo will be the home of a real Juventus Academy.

"The work done by [Chief Executive] Aldo Mazzia and [Chief Revenue Officer] Francesco Calvo has been fundamental in helping the club make the step up.

“A €315 million turnover at the end of 2013/14 enables us to go toe to toe with the biggest European sides on the pitch."

"My aim is to ensure that the team continues to grow and remains competitive.

"I believe that club associations should be run by businessmen, institutions by footballers.”

The President underlined his pride at a triumphant season for the Bianconeri but warned that the wider success of Italian clubs in Europe isn’t a reflection of the game on the peninsula.

“I'm immensely proud of what we've done in recent years and this year especially. It's been an extraordinary season,” he said.

"You can say that a season has been successful if you're still in the running on three fronts when spring comes round.

“Juve in the Champions League final and Napoli and Fiorentina in the Europa League semi-finals isn’t Italian football's success. It's three clubs who have worked well."
