“This is a wonderful day for me, but also my family and my teammates. I must tell the fans I’ll always give my best, just as I have done so far, and will continue working to improve. Alex Sandro is staying,” he told JTV.

“I believe that I have taken on the mentality of the club and team, who always want to win. I’ll never change that mentality, so every time I set foot on the pitch, I want to win.”

Alex Sandro has scored nine goals in 134 competitive games for Juve, and provided 19 assists.

“I am just happy when we win, but a goal or assist is an extra bonus. I hold every goal in my heart, because it’s not easy to score when you’re a full-back. Perhaps my favourite is the header in the derby against Torino.”

Juventus host Roma on Saturday evening and Alex Sandro knows what to expect.

“It’s always a war against Roma. We are prepared and know that they are prepared too, so I expect it to be a great game for players and fans.”

The Bianconeri take on Atletico Madrid in the Champions League Round of 16.

“Atleti are a tough outfit, strong both physically and tactically. Now we have to focus on Roma, though, there is time for Atletico.”
