The 40-year-old, who will reveal next week whether he plans to extend his playing career, has been linked with a number of clubs around Europe.
However, the PSG patron would not be drawn on whether his side are chasing Buffon’s signature.

“Buffon is a fantastic goalkeeper. But our first choice is Areola and he will be next season as well,” Al Khelaifi told reporters.
“You know me well, do you really think I’d tell you which players we are following?
“At the moment we have Areola. He is our number one and will be for next year as well.
“Buffon is a fantastic goalkeeper, charismatic, a great guy.
“I am sure that any club would want him.”
