Emmanuel Adebayor declared there was “already a deal” between Manchester City and Juventus for his January move, but it is impossible.

The outcast City striker had already been linked with Juve in the summer, but is now looking for a move after being snubbed by Roberto Mancini.

“I don't know what I did to Mancini, but he never lets me play,” Adebayor was quoted as saying in Belgian Sport Foot Magazine.

“I know that I cannot stay here. I am just waiting for December so that I can leave in January.

“I can tell you that my club already has a deal with Juve for the loan.”

However, that is impossible due to the new FIGC rules introduced after the 2010 World Cup.

In previous seasons Serie A sides were allowed to replace two non-EU members with a newcomer, but this term it was reduced to just one.

That position has already been filled with the arrival of Milos Krasic in the summer.

It is because the Serb joined this season that Juventus cannot sign another non-EU player and had to give up on Bosnian Edin Dzeko until next year.
