Thomas Zilliacus predicts a narrow win for Inter in the Champions League Final against Manchester City but insists Steven Zhang won’t sell the club.

The Finnish entrepreneur had done nothing to deny rumours linking him with Inter takeover during the last few weeks but seems to have accepted that Zhang doesn’t want to sell now.

In one of his latest tweets on Friday morning, Zilliacus wrote: “Lately my name has been linked to Inter Milan. It is a great club with a fantastic history. The owner has however said the club is not for sale. Let’s all respect that and support Inter in tomorrow’s final. I predict a narrow win for the Nerazzurri.”

Zhang spoke to La Gazzetta dello Sport on Friday, suggesting that he is not planning to sell the club and revealing that he would negotiate a new loan with Oaktree.

Zhang’s Suning bought a majority stake in Inter in 2016 and became the first foreign owners to win the Serie A title in 2020-21 with Antonio Conte in charge.

However, the Chinese company has been struggling financially over the last few years, especially after the COVID pandemic after which they were forced to sell many of their stars including Achraf Hakimi ad Romelu Lukaku who eventually returned from Chelsea on loan last summer.
