Palermo patron Maurizio Zamparini believes Javier Pastore will go abroad and “we lost Ricky Alvarez to Arsenal.”

The President told Radio Kiss Kiss that Pastore, who he has valued at €50m, is unlikely to remain in Serie A for another season.

“Pastore is absolutely a top player and there are three or four clubs tracking him. His agent is waiting calmly. With the money he's worth, obviously those clubs have certain resources at their disposal.

“Chelsea are among them, but we have to see what their new Coach Andre Villas-Boas has to say. The same goes for Juventus, as the directors love Pastore, but Antonio Conte is less interested considering his tactics.

Napoli have already called me about Pastore and I expect a new call. I would like him to stay in Italy, but I think that's unlikely.

“At the moment I am in England, but not to sell Pastore.”

Instead, Zamparini revealed an intriguing rumour from London that will upset Palermo and Roma fans, as both were hoping to snap up Velez Sarsfield star Alvarez.

“We did have a concrete bid for Alvarez and had him in our grasp back in January. Unfortunately, we didn't complete the move in time, so we lost him to Arsenal. At this moment he has already signed for the Gunners.”
