Juventus are now in a position to return to the very highest levels of the game after a significant cash injection, insists President Andrea Agnelli.

The board yesterday approved a capital increase of €120m, a figure which the Bianconeri chief believes will be vital to the future of the Old Lady.

"We are at a real turning point," Agnelli told La Gazzetta dello Sport on Friday. "It is a response to the people who thought that our family wanted to disengage with Juve.

"It was a critical day, which was extremely important for the life of our club. We now have adequate funds to complete a job that I started 12 months ago.

"I've always talked about a first phase of quantity and a second of quality. Here, we have entered the second phase.

"Now we have the economic means to get back to winning, now we have the right leadership at all levels, thanks to executive Aldo Mazzia and director general Beppe Marotta."

Juventus have spent the last few months promising some significant summer signings and Agnelli insists that is still the intention.

"Our transfer campaign will be one of quality," he added. "We are seeking people who know how to win, who have the right experience, to complement the work begun last year.

"It seems to me that something has already been done even though we are only at the start of the market.

"Yes, I'm referring to Andrea Pirlo. His signing has been underestimated by the media. The truth is that a great has arrived at Juve. And more will come.

"I won't mention names, but we are talking about players of the highest quality, true champions. But there is no need to rush. Last year's best signing came at the end of August."

John Elkann, the President of Exor, Juve's parent company, is also optimistic about tomorrow and beyond after the club's less than satisfactory last two campaigns.

"The capital increase launched means that Juventus has a great future ahead," Elkann, Agnelli's cousin, stated.

"The plan that has been brought is an ambitious plan, that wants to see Juventus become a protagonist in the world of sport – where its history, but especially where its future will be.

"The project requires the resources to build a stronger team and aims for important goals – and we feel in all respects ready to support this path."
