Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini said if “Milan don’t pay up, I’ll let Ezequiel Munoz rot in the stands.”

The fiery patron was never one for diplomacy and gave a blunt response when Sky Sport Italia asked about negotiations for Munoz.

“There are many jackals in the football world,” said Zamparini.

“The other day Galliani called me up and said he was offended, then asked me for Munoz. I am entirely certain they’re going to wait until the last minute of the market to get him for free, but that won’t work.

“If Milan don’t pay up, I’d rather let him rot in the stands until June. It’s an issue of principle.”

Munoz will be out of contract at the end of the season and has already stated he won’t sign a renewal.

He’ll be a free agent over the summer and this is Palermo’s last chance to get some money from his departure.

Zamparini was also asked about talks for a contract extension with Paulo Dybala.

“We’ll meet next week to discuss his future, but he too needs to show a little gratitude and understand his agents aren’t the only ones who deserve something.”
