Although the Ducali are bottom of the Serie A table, the Rossoneri are also in crisis and haven’t won a League game in 2015.

“Milan aren’t going through a good moment either,” noted Donadoni in a Press conference.

“Of course we’re not lacking problems. We must try to play without pressure, thinking only of what is on the pitch.”

Cassano terminated his contract by mutual consent after revealing the club hadn’t paid anyone for six months.

Other players are now considering the same course of action if the situation is not resolved.

Donadoni called Cassano “cowardly” and noted it took “more dignity to stay in the saddle than to run away.”

FantAntonio replied via his wife’s Twitter account: “Talking about dignity after 17 defeats is incredible! I understand you missed the chance to leave earlier and also understand how much you care about money, but sooner or later someone will want you!”

Donadoni was asked about this message during the Press conference, but was uninterested.

“I don’t even know what Twitter is. We have to stop talking about these stupid things and focus only on important situations. In my view, this is all hot air.

“It is our duty to be optimistic. The squad hasn’t been paid since July and the fact some choose to stay doesn’t mean they will receive back payments. There are no guarantees, but we could do with some.

“All we can do is focus on working hard on the pitch. That is tied in with our dignity. I hope some new players can arrive. The club is active and I remain optimistic.”

Parma impressed midweek in the Coppa Italia quarter-final, where they held Juventus until an 89th minute Alvaro Morata goal.

“We must go out there with the same mentality seen against Juventus. We have to begin again from that spirit of togetherness and desire to prove ourselves.”
