Cristian Zaccardo says he was previously ‘never given a chance’ at Milan, but hopes to help them up the table now.
The full-back has made just nine appearances across the last two seasons, but has been handed a starting spot for the Rossoneri’s last two games as injuries mount.
“I have always been here and training well, but I was never given the chance,” Zaccardo lamented in an interview with Milan Channel.

“I have always been here and training well, but I was never given the chance,” Zaccardo lamented in an interview with Milan Channel.
“Then against Parma that chance was given to me and I responded well. If you always give your utmost in training, it’s normal that you’ll do your best in the game.
“Even last year, under [Clarence] Seedorf the same thing happened: it seemed I’d have to leave, then I stayed and showed all my commitment and professionalism.”
Filippo Inzaghi’s side are currently in 11th place in Serie A, 24 points behind leaders Juventus, and Zaccardo says they must improve.
“Before coming to Milan I never thought I’d find myself in this position in the table. We have a favourable run in the next few games, but we must give our all and stay united.
“We need to have the ability to react to what’s happening in the game. The best medicine is three points.
“At the moment the table makes depressing reading, but we want to improve at all costs.”
The 33-year-old made over 100 appearances for Parma before moving to San Siro and took some time to reflect on the Ducali’s struggles.
“I’m sorry [for them],” Zaccardo admitted.
“I have a particular bond with that club, I have friends and companions there. Hopefully they manage to fix things, because it’s not an easy situation.”
