The 2019-20 edition of Women’s Serie A has been terminated with immediate effect and without title winners.

It had been speculated that today’s Federal Council would allow for a playoff/playout hypothesis.

However, leaders of Itaian football instead opted for a complete closure of the season, with the table frozen.

Juventus were top with 44 points when the campaign was suspended on March 9, with Fiorentina and Milan nine points behind and Roma fourth on 34.

Despite the Old Lady’s considerable lead, they will not be awarded the Scudetto.

Fiorentina, meanwhile, will qualify for the Women’s Champions League ahead of Milan via the much-debated algorithm.

Napoli have been promoted from Serie B and will replace Orobica, who have been relegated.
